Seiko 2021-5090 | Octagonal Quartz Dress Watch | Silver Dial | c.1975 | Pre-Owned
Produced in July 1975 at Seiko’s Hattori factory (Japan-H), this 2021-5090 sits squarely
in the era when quartz was luxury. The chamfered octagonal case — a shape Seiko would lean
into heavily across the late-70s dress range — gives it a geometry that reads as modern
fifty years on. The silver dial is honest and clean: gilt baton indices, slender matched hands,
and the original “SEIKO QUARTZ” dial print intact. No clutter, no date window interrupting the
face — just a well-considered mid-decade dress watch doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Condition
Honest vintage condition. The SGP case shows plating wear at the bezel corners and lower
lugs — base metal visible in those areas, no active flaking. Dial surface is clean with no
visible spotting or print fade. Crystal carries a light ambient haze typical of 50-year-old
mineral glass; no chips or cracks. Crown functions normally. Movement runs. Strap is an
aftermarket brown leather in good wearable shape with gold-tone buckle. Overall: a solid
daily driver with character, not a display piece.
