Casio Baby-G BGX-130 — Translucent Yellow X-treme, Circa 1997–2001
The BGX-130 was Casio’s answer to action sports culture at its peak — a Baby-G variant
armored with four white wire bump guards and a fully translucent “jelly” resin case that looked
like it was poured straight from a bag of lemon drops. The yellow colorway is one of the most
visually striking from this generation, and unlike so many of its peers, this one made it through
the decades with its guards intact and its backlight still throwing a clean green glow. Y2K
aesthetics are having their moment again, and the BGX-130 is the real article — not a revival,
not a reissue.

Condition
Good+ for age. The translucent resin has developed the warm, honeyed amber cast typical of
90s Casio jelly cases — this is natural UV patina, not damage, and many collectors consider it
part of the character. All four wire guards are present and intact with only minor scuffing at
the wire tips. Band is supple with no cracks. Display is clear and fully functional; EL backlight
illuminates strongly in green. No crystal damage visible. Overall a solid, wearable example of
this generation.
